Starting Strong is Good. Finishing Strong is Epic. – Robin Sharma

Midfielders

Sadio Mane TSB 7.4% Price E9.3

Argument for: Mane may be the player which could reap the most rewards from this list but also destroy your FPL hopes and dreams. He plays a team with the second most goals in the EPL, has 13 shots and 9 assists in his last 5 games, and has a great run of fixtures. Liverpool also plays in gameweek 31.

Argument against: Those 13 shots we talked about above, well guess how many were on goal, that’s right – 2. Mane just is inefficient in every respect of the word and disappears in games. Against Spurs he had zero shots and attempted assists in 64 minutes. There is also the fact that Liverpool is in champions league and Liverpool’s front line is not deep so Mane could be rested in EPL games. At his 9.3 cost, that is hard to swallow.

Riyad Mahrez TSB 6.8% Price E8.6

Argument for: Oh how quickly we forget. Mahrez is the fifth highest scoring midfielder and mind you that is with playing only 28 minutes in the last 3 games. Through in the fact that Leicester has an incredible run of fixtures and Mahrez fair price and you have quite the alternative deal.

Argument against: There is no telling what type of effort we are going to get from Mahrez who is obviously displeased he was not transferred. The same may be said of Leicester as a team which has no realistic chance of qualifying for champions league but is also safe from relegation. That can be a dangerous combination.

James Ward Prowse TSB 3.0% Price E5.1

Argument for: Hear is the question. What player has averaged over his last 5 games 7.8 points per game, 2.4 shots per game, and 2.2 attempted assists per game? Here are a couple more clues. He costs 5.1, is on free kicks, and is a consistent starter. The answer… JWP!

Argument against: JWP still plays on a bad offensive team, with average fixtures, and who is to say that his most recent performances are an outlier rather than the norm.

Defenders

Victor Moses TSB 2.0% Price E6.4

Argument for: In his last 7 games where he has played greater than 90 minutes Moses has averaged 7.7 ppg. That is a whopping 8.4 point per million (ppm). Chelsea has seemed to have righted the ship against West Bromwhich Albion and we know that Conte’s tactics allow wingbacks such as Moses and Alonso to get in good attacking positions. We are just amazed as you are that at the start of this article his TSB is a whopping 2.0%.

Argument against: Has Chelsea truly the ship? It may be way to early to say that after playing the worst team in the EPL. Chelsea also have a tough run of fixtures having to go against Man United, Man City, and Spurs within the next 4 gameweeks (Excluding GWK 31 which they will not play). It is reasonable to consider that Moses will be playing in Champions league and that may dip into his starts in the EPL. However, do we really suspect Chelsea to move past Barcelona?

Toby Alderweireld TSB 4.6% Price E5.8

Argument for: Spurs currently sit 3rd with 12 total clean sheets. However, they have been the best defense since December with 6 clean sheets in their last 11 EPL games. Now add in an experienced international center back and you got more clean sheets coming. Don’t forget, Spurs have a great run of fixtures and are pushing to qualify for champions league.

Argument against: It is hard to risk bringing in a player that has been injured for so long and may not be back to form. Spurs also have a lot of fixture congestion with Champion’s League and FA cup games. Also it is not like Sanchez has been doing poorly.

Kevin Naugton TSB 4.7% Price E4.6

Argument for: We are not giving up on Swansea and neither should you. Since January 13th they are tied for the second most clean sheets (2), behind only Spurs and Chelsea who have 3. They have a solid run of fixtures, unbeaten in there last XX games, and will be fighting for there life to avoid relegation. If you are trying to free up funds for other players Naughton is not a bad option.

Argument against: Naugton still plays for a bad team and can they really keep up there recent run of form? He is consistent as he has played 79 minutes or more in all but 2 games but his only attacking returns are 2 assists. With him you are basically hoping for clean sheet and BAP points.
